Daisya Ringenberg is a 20 year old aspiring businessman and artist. Born in Southeast China, and has resided in Northern California since 2001. Daisya specializes in digital illustration, merchandise design, and typesetting work. Currently working towards associate’s degrees in studio art, liberal arts, and business administration at Lake Tahoe Community College. Hoping to continue with his business major in business communications and international relationships at Sacramento State University.In his free time, Daisya is a Zine Organizer, manga cleaner and typesetter, and a freelance artist. Primarily focusing on fan-made content focusing on video games and anime, drawn in a style heavily influenced by anime and manga. He cites Hiro Mashima and Yamamori Mika as artistic inspirations. Daisya also has experience in stage performance and voice over work, receiving recognition in performing arts. In addition to writing and performing, Daisya also writes stories from time to time, further expanding on character creation and design. Since 2014, Daisya has worked towards personal improvement in his craft in various fields.In 2014, Daisya received the Burt Miller Memorial Award for art students.From 2017 to 2018, Daisya has worked on fan-translations of manga, cleaning and typesetting, on series including Koushiki Ekkyouden Fukumoto All Stars, and Gin to Kin by Nobuyuki Fukumoto.Daisya continues to share his fan-made content through social media platforms including Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram primarily under the name Zuyurio. Aside from working towards an associate's degree in Business Administration, I put the creative side of me to work through drawing and writing. I’ve been drawing ever since I was able to pick up a pencil. Being able to put concepts and ideas one would see in their head down on paper and represented in a more visual format is a talent that I believe everyone is capable of acquiring. Anyone can be an artist if they put their heart into it. My interests are rather sporadic, but I enjoy drawing whatever has my attention at a given time.Primarily focusing on fanart for video games and anime I enjoy. While I do enjoy the video games I play, I always feel there is room for improvement, and I improve on these concepts represented to me through drawing out scenarios I believe would be fun, different, or even sad. Much of my artistic influences come from whatever media interests me, including movies, video games, and cartoons. My artistic inspirations include Yamamori Mika and Hiro Mashima. Through my artwork and writing, I wish to convey these ideas, which in themselves are an indirect projection of my personal experiences and even coping with traumas I’ve experienced growing up.I work mostly as a digital illustrator, my preferred drawing programs in Paint Tool SAI2 and Clip Studio Paint. My choice of traditional media includes charcoal, graphite, oil paint, and watercolor. I record many of my valuable life experiences through sketches from life done in the exact moment I wish to remember. For the most part, my artwork is done digitally from start to finish, occasionally drafted out on paper then finished digitally. When I paint digitally, I treat it like I would oil paint. Blocking in color with high contrast for my distinct light and dark values, later going in between with colors I see appropriate. What I love most about my work, personally, is the way I lay colors up against a given background and my skill in drawing the human form.In addition to drawing, I spend time in Clip Studio Paint cleaning and typesetting fan-translated Japanese comic books, otherwise known as manga. Being a drawing artist has its perks in this field, being able to draw over certain scenes where needed once the original Japanese text is erased. I hope to expand my skills in cleaning and typesetting work to a professional level, as I only have two manga that I worked on.I often find myself up past 3 AM drawing simply because some of these ideas just can’t wait until morning. Drawing is a way for me to escape the noises in my head and put it down onto paper. Ever since I was 14, I always strived towards improving my art- specifically with drawing people in my own anime-inspired art style. The subjects of my art are often characters I find myself relating to or being able to project all sorts of feelings and emotions onto.
